This Sunday was the first Sunday in advent, and in the evening we joined together with two other local churches for a united advent service.
As it was a united service with methodist, anglican and Salvation Army we had an interesting mix of styles and traditions to merge together for the service. The band accompanied three of the four songs used in the service, and played the march Christmas Joy at the end. Two of the carols used we didn’t have music for so I arranged them for the band. Whilst accompanying the singing the organist joined for the last verse which added a nice extra to the overall sound.
